Just One of MANY Reasons Why Glenn Beck Is As Dangerous As He Is Irresponsible

Recently, there have been a gathering of Progressives in my neck of the woods. This gathering was started by Jim Evans and recently, he submitted something to me and I feel like sharing his thought over the ever-thoughtless Glenn Beck.

I can't even fathom how Glenn Beck actually buys into his own bullshit. Seriously, I don't. I believe he's taken a cue from Rupert Murdoch in just pandering to those who are willing to buy it.

Anyway, here's what Jim submitted to me and right now, I feel like sharing:

Glenn Beck recently said "I don't trust scientists."

Science - is an enterprise that uses mathematics and logic to build and organize verifiable data to form testable explanations and predictions about the natural world.

I have watched Beck use his blackboard and props to craft absurd fantasies.

Perception - is the process of attaining awareness or understanding of sensory information.

Glenn denies the scientific method and instead bases his perception of the world on fallacy, misinformation, and superstition.

He and his followers are lost in a self-fabricated alternate universe. On their island:

1. Evolution is not real.
2. Corporations are living breathing persons.
3. Zygotes are people.
4. Homosexuality is a behavior not an identity.
5. There is an inexhaustible supply of fossil energy.
6. Carbon dioxide is not a greenhouse gas.
7. Poverty, hunger, and disease are because those people are lazy or made the wrong religious choice.
8. The others are evil, suspect, and maybe terrorists.

What we need right now are people who are willing to think and not just watch as some video dipshit dictates to us while we buy into his pseudo-logic and gold bouillon.

Glenn Beck is a fucking disgrace and hazard to common sense, morality and dignity as he has none of these things...and never will.

I am the Complaint Department Manager and I approve Jim's message.

You know what was real scary, CDM? To me, it was when they asked the 2008 Republican candidates if they believed in evolution...and a good 3-4 of them didn't bother to raise their hands.

Clear Channel radio host Glenn Beck said he was "thinking about killing Michael Moore" and pondered whether "I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it," before concluding: "No, I think I could. I think he could be looking me in the eye, you know, and I could just be choking the life out -- is this wrong?"

Giffords barely survived a vicious campaign against a Tea Party opponent who held a rally to “shoot a fully automatic M16″ to “get on target” and “remove Gabrielle Giffords.” Giffords was also on Palin’s “target list” of vulnerable Democrats. Palin also stated on her Tweet, "Don't Retreat, Instead - RELOAD"

What's scary is that people who you think are sane and rational buy into his garbage. A few weeks ago my dance teacher, not exactly a liberal but left enough of Tea Party status (waffled on POTUS candidates in the last election, but had no problem taking one of Obama's small business loans) was complaining about the government. I came in on the tail end of the conversation, but I couldn't believe my ears when she said, "YOu have to listen to Glenn Beck. He's the only person who tells the truth." I couldn't believe my ears. How many other centrists is he attracting, is he making people believe his crazy and unsupported theories are true?

Will - when that question was asked, did you notice that some of those hands went up ONLY after a few more got raised? Watch that again and look at their eyes, I couldn't help but laugh.

Jim - Thanks for the submission. The rhetoric MUST change. These idiots are inciting violence whether they want to admit it or not. They may as well hold keggers outside of A.A. meeting, knowing they were there, and then say they weren't to blame when some of those A.A. folks went off the bandwagon.

Disordered one - Hypocrites and fair weather people are everywhere and your dance instructor sounds like she's a perfect example of one. When people can turn off the TV and do fact finding for themselves, then and only then, the truth will out.

Fox News has already been proven to have misled and uniformed their audience. Perhaps you need to show your dance instructor that little article. If you want me to email it to you, let me know.
