I can't speak for DMX, but among my friends that ol' jailhouse religion lasted about as long as it took them to get out of the slammer and take their first shot of Jack or hit off the crack pipe...

CDM - I worked at the prision down here for two years plus and I can honestly say - Jail house religion gets a lot of the inmates through the week, day, and for some, the hour. The problem with it is that if your not in a status to have fiancial means when you get out then all religion goes to the wayside and your looking for a way back into the community you came from. ie jail, prision, etc
DMX - now... he's prollys some real BAD boys bitch and he don't like it!
DMX comes from a comfortable position and uses religion, which to me, is sickening. There are a lot of others that do as you have stated and are more sincere than the likes of DMX. DMX hasn't hit rock bottom yet. He still has plenty of money to fall back on where as others don't. Celebs don't impress me at all with there jailhouse "transformations" for that very reason. Especially since this piece of shit has been in before and didn't learn the first time around. His chances of learning further decreases as he keeps getting incarcerated.

Does anyone remember when Paris Hilton got out of jail after like 30 days or some BS like that and went on Larry King? She said that she too had found religion and when Larry asked her what her favorite bible passage was- it was total deer in the headlights.
That pretty much sums up my thoughts on finding Jesus in prison.
